Roberto De Wan was born in Turin in 1964; he began drawing early and during his high school studies he frequented the atelier of the surrealist painter Pontecorvo who taught him nudity and portrait techniques. He is encouraged in his artistic vocation by his family of creatives and founders of the historical De Wan jewelry store in Turin, Milan, Montecarlo. In 1988 he graduated with full marks in Political Science discussing a thesis about war graphics with the political scientist Luigi Bonanate and the sociologist Marco Revelli. From that date he devoted himself to Fashion Design with his main interest in figurative art which he applied to rigorous design in the Fashion sector. He lives and works between his atelier in via Manzoni 44 in Milan, Montecarlo and Turin, where this year a solo show will be set up at the National University Library, curated by Prof. Angelo Mistrangelo, after the two exhibitions held at the Contemporary Art Antonio Battaglia Gallery of Milan on the occasion of Fashion Week events 2021.
